Dr Sara Read and Dr Catie Gill will delve into culinary and historical tradition for this event. We'll hear how our ancestors enjoyed a mince pie at Christmas as much as we do today. Elizabeth Pepys even stayed up till 4 am supervising her maids making mince pies on Christmas eve 1666. But their mince pie was different to ours: a savoury and sweet affair made as one big dish to slice up. Find out how to make one as Read and Gill demonstrate the process of putting the pie together and you'll have a chance to sample one for yourselves.
